Performance Drywall’s Work on This New 7-Story Hotel Build
Performance Drywall played a key role in the construction of the new seven-story Hyatt Place at University Research Park, delivering the complete framing and interior systems required to bring this modern hotel structure to life. From the earliest stages of vertical construction through final interior installations, PDI provided the craftsmanship and coordination needed for a project of this scale.

Our team completed all exterior and interior metal stud framing, forming the structural layout for guest rooms, corridors, amenity spaces, and the ground-level lobby. The exterior envelope was built using gypsum and plywood sheathing, creating a durable substrate for the building’s finished façade.
Inside the hotel, PDI provided wall insulation and full drywall installation, ensuring comfort, fire protection, and acoustic performance throughout the guest floors. The project also included installation of acoustical ceilings, delivering clean lines and sound-control essential to hospitality environments.
For high-traffic and back-of-house areas, we installed FRP panels, chosen for their durability and easy maintenance. On the exterior, GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) columns were added to enhance the architectural design and give the hotel its signature entrance aesthetic.
From structure to finish, Performance Drywall delivered a complete, large-scale solution that supports both the visual appeal and long-term performance of this new hotel destination in Charlotte.
